I much prefer an asymmetrical tyre on a RWD car, just so much more progressive when the back end starts to go, where as a symmetrical one tends to hold a bit longer but then snaps.

Michelin for me, Pilot Sports if giving it some or Primacy if I want a bit more comfort.

Had good results with the Kumho KU-31 previously, a great tyre for the price.

Hate Continentals, great for the first few months/thousand miles but they then go rock hard, and even start to crack on the sidewalls and in the treads.
A few owners on various forums have said the same.

FK453's seem OK, FK452 I started to really dislike, OK for the money but hard and noisy and not great grip either, would rather spedn a tad more.

Well I got some new tires today. I wanted the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 but they did not have them in stock so I got the Pirelli P1 Cinturato. All four tires for a total of AUD$669 including all fitting, balance, and alignment - no more to pay just drive away.

As expected the car is totally different and behaves like what we expect from German engineering BMW. No more tramlining or bump steer etc. The power steering is light. WOW!

Earlier today I got the car up on the hoist for an inspection. It's like new under there apart from the dust boots on the two front shock absorbers which have perished.

I really rate mine too Gaz, I will never do track days so as long as they perform well on the road in wet or dry conditions I'm happy. Good tyres at a good price.:)

Running Khomo Budget tyres. Only 2000 miles clocked so far with no signs of any wear, particularly on the rear. Minimal road noise and no tramlining so far.

Michelin pilot sport all season. No complaints. 2.8 manual. 97 They are quiet , stick on any surface. Seem to be wearing well at about 5000 miles. 7/10's driver tho.
