In these first 2 you are on the primary flood bank looking back towards the back of the White Swan.

It's the big building and you can see the two big trees which are in the car park.

Here's a closer shot. This also shows how close the secondary (Oh s***) flood bank is to the back of the pub. When this happened the caravan site next to pub (left of picture) was starting to stand water. The river authority said if the water was clear it was ok, however if the water became "dirty" that would show it's coming through the flood bank and it would time to b***** off
Now here's a look along the primary flood bank and you can see how the water has "filled in" between the two flood banks. This is where the water came over this time to fill the marsh.

You can see all the crud left behind as it washed over.

This is the top of the primary flood bank looking towards Laughterton and the previous one looking back towards the pump house at the end of the Canal arm. Notice the big square bales of straw floating around like match boxes.

And this is down the "arm" near to the Lock itself. Again it has been higher than this, requiring the "boards" to be put in place and sand bags to support them as in the last picture. They were not needed this time though.

It'll soon be summer and all a distant memory.

(We hope)
