Steve
I recon he could have plugged that hole for you mate :D, I think I will remove mine now, it does seem pretty pointless carrying it around.

Whats this clutch stop thing pal, I think I already want one :D
A clutch stop is something that reduces the distance from the clutch pedal to the floor - this in turn will shorten the distance it takes for the pedal to reach the biting point. BMW did fit one in the car as standard but it is - in my opinion poor - especially after what @Antm72 told me. It screws in directly to the firewall (underneath the clutch pedal) in the car and replaces the existing stopper.

You can quite easily make a clutch stop at home for £2-3 instead of spending £10-15 on what will essentially be the same thing.

I have one on my zed, same as Ant's. On the 6 cylinder cars it helps reduce the notorious clunk on gear changing.
Should help on the 1.9 as well.

I'd say wind deflector at the top of the list, alot more enjoyable with the roof down when you have it fitted.
My exhaust I just fitted chrome tips and makes a huge difference.
Gear stick is something you touch most in your car along with the steering wheel so those should be of decent quality. I paid 40 for mind from ebay but had I heard of the motorwerks ones before then I would have spent the extra on one of those!

Now you have just thrown a spanner in the works pal, I got a nice little cash bonus today, and was deliberating what to get, I eventually got it down to a Reiger front splitter or Sub and Amp to go along with the new sound system, I rang the audio shop tonight and did a deal on an Vibe under seat combined sub and active amp, said I would collect it tomorrow, I really need a Royal jobbie though.

o_O Coolant has been flushed a million times till it's crystal pink. . :D
Not wishing to worry you on this, however, BMW anti-freeze I use in my 2.8 is blue in colour (I am fairly sure the M44 requires the same). I forget the detail now but pink and blue types have different anti-corrosion additives and protect different metals in the engine. An hour or so on google and you will be an expert. Please tell me if I am wrong on this one and pink is correct - never too old to learn!

When I was looking for fresh anti freeze for mine I read up on the subject then went to the local BMW dealer and bought the genuine stuff for about the same price as Halfords were charging. Check the compatibility of the two colour types as you may need to flush before you refill.

I read up about antifreeze and the types as I wanted to "upgrade" when I change mine but I'm still non the wiser, I'd have liked the waterless stuff but its expensive stuff to loose if you have a leak and you cant just top up with water
If you look on ebay there is about 6 different colours you can get but I think its anything with organic stuff in it Is ok but hopefully someone that knows can confirm :)
