A clutch stop is something that reduces the distance from the clutch pedal to the floor - this in turn will shorten the distance it takes for the pedal to reach the biting point. BMW did fit one in the car as standard but it is - in my opinion poor - especially after what @Antm72 told me. It screws in directly to the firewall (underneath the clutch pedal) in the car and replaces the existing stopper.Whats this clutch stop thing pal, I think I already want one![]()
No rush mate, tomorrow's fineI'll have a rummage tomorrow night.
Tony.
I have one on my zed, same as Ant's. On the 6 cylinder cars it helps reduce the notorious clunk on gear changing.A clutch stop is something that reduces the distance from the clutch pedal to the floor - this in turn will shorten the distance it takes for the pedal to reach the biting point. You can quite easily make a clutch stop at home for £2-3 instead of spending £10-15 on what will essentially be the same thing.

Now you have just thrown a spanner in the works pal, I got a nice little cash bonus today, and was deliberating what to get, I eventually got it down to a Reiger front splitter or Sub and Amp to go along with the new sound system, I rang the audio shop tonight and did a deal on an Vibe under seat combined sub and active amp, said I would collect it tomorrow, I really need a Royal jobbie though.@Faheem just to add to the confusion have you thought about a steering wheel upgrade from Royal?Highly recommended

Not wishing to worry you on this, however, BMW anti-freeze I use in my 2.8 is blue in colour (I am fairly sure the M44 requires the same). I forget the detail now but pink and blue types have different anti-corrosion additives and protect different metals in the engine. An hour or so on google and you will be an expert. Please tell me if I am wrong on this one and pink is correct - never too old to learn!Coolant has been flushed a million times till it's crystal pink. .
