We usually head to France this time of the year to ride our bikes with some friends over there.But one of the Brexit bonuses is if we travel with our bikes in the van like we usually do we will need a travel carnet that guarantees that you will bring your bike and gear back and not sell it without paying taxthe trouble is it’s has to be for 40%of the value plus the price of the carnet which is £250. If we ride our bikes over it’s free but a long way to go on a dirt bike. A friend of mine that runs a track day company that operates a lot in Spain can get away with it as he pays for one carnet per truck and takes out an insurance policy for the value which makes it much cheaper per person but at the moment we’re stuffed.The sooner we’re back in the better lol.
 
Obviously we were very disappointed to leave the Eu because of the way we like to travel and do business,but the biggest disappointment was the way some people who I liked and respected fell for Nigel f****e and his ilk and effectively put this country, business ,industry and especially our childrens future back decades.
 
I'm never sure about political topics. They always turn into shouting matches.

I lived in Germany half of my life. I have both British and German family and 99% of my business income still comes from EU. I am affected by brexit. I'm not just a mindless Nigel f follower.

I don't mind an economic partnership with europe. ie the original EEC or the current EFTA

But being full in the EU roadmap and giving more and more of our decision making to brussels is a no no. It is the EU's intention to pull more and more decision making into central european government with the original states, eventually, behaving almost like devolved governments allowed to tinker with a few local issues.

In the short term there will be difficulties. But in the longer term we're better off being out if it.
 
We are much better off in having a say on the development of the Eu rather than on the sidelines ineffective as a small individual in an increasingly competitive closed marketplaces that we have to sacrifice many more standards and principles to obtain a share of 20 ,30,40 years from now the world will look so different and we become a lesser ineffectual part of it on our own
 
Having a say? There was around 750 'seats' MEPs of which we had around 10%

Any 'minority" pretends to have a say but in reality all they do is oppose stuff simply for sake of it without any real say.
 
You may not agree with the vote but the majority of the people who voted said to come out.

I did not agree with Wales becoming a devolved country , but I accept it , as it was voted for by 50.3% of the people that voted , As only 50% voted the actual percentage in favour was only 25% But that's the way it works so just accept it.

Just because there was a slight majority doesn't mean that you cant fight for what you feel is right ,come on guys that's how all idiotic decisions are sorted slavery,votes for women bringing in the NHS they were all brought in by not accepting the decisions if that was the case we would still be in the EU lol

Most people didn't, or couldn't, take advantage of some of the free stuff, so they objected paying for it.

Who can blame them?

Look at the bright side. Each of us gets a duty-free allowance when we go to Le Mans.

Yesstrange how the poorest most deprived parts of the country got the most support and the most well off didn’t like it ...levelling up not happening in the uk lol

10% vs 0% of influence over a huge trading block like the Eu .we will never have as much say in any other deal that we reach with India ,China America and we will forever be dancing to everyone else’s tune,until our children beg to rejoin the Eu without so many of the benefits we gained over the last 40years.
 
TRF recommends riding them to France. It'll cost you the price of the crossing, but it may be cheaper.

Don't forget the Cert'Air. Another £4. Nothing to do with Brexit, but still another thing to whinge about.
 
The whole world is in a real state, not just the UK. COVID was, and indeed still is, a worldwide pandemic. But that’s probably down to Brexit too. . . . .

Stupid idea to leave - we make bugger all… we have bugger all and now we are stuck for Christ knows how long. Obviously Covid has b******* everything up further but only accelerated our issues.

still we should be better to the tune of £350m a day shouldn’t we? Where’s that?

Luckily for the government covid has actually hidden what a disaster Brexit is their own figures show the uk taxpayers have to fund the 35 billion every yearwith no benifits rather than the 13 it cost us to be in it with all the simplified rules to banking ,business and trade as a member. But the" no mosques in Birmingham " that was one of the stupid arguments for leaving the EU I had to deal with. And leave "won" duh .and some of them were friends

It is what it is. I voted leave and I stand by that. No one could have foreseen the pandemic.
