Haha well to be fair the E89 is largely problem free, a couple of guys on Z4 forum are experiencing issues, one a leaky roof and another a number of issues which have been compounded by a poor dealer.gookah said:keep the 3 and part-ex the 4, .......might have to put some towards the Suzuki though, what with all the problems these cars are having ]
These are not completed sales. Most are asking prices but some have bids already. FrankieHi all,
Anyone know roughly what my Zed (Z3) might be worth as a trade in? I've been looking on e-bay and Autotrader for comparables but most are near to 100K on the clock or interstella lol. Mine has 24K
The car I'm looking to trade in against has a 6K forecourt price.
Cheers,
Tim.
I was in your position a couple of years ago Tim so I put my car outside our house with a for sale sign on it. Over the years I have sold many cars for myself and others by this method, I put a price of what I would have been prepared to take for it but after several time wasters and tyre kickers had been and gone I put her back in the garage. She is now our 3rd car. My wife has a VW Eos 2.0 TDI and my winter ride is a VW Touareg 2.5 TDI . Last year she only covered 3500 miles on the road for 6 months, this year she may do more. You made the right decision. Thanks ever so much for the replies, much appreciated. Ferdinand hit the nail on the head Well after much thought and reading everyones posts on here and .net and the various PM's I have decided to keep the Zed I would certainly be crazy to part ex with a dealer as the cars are worth so little now it just isn't worth it. Also if I sold to a member on here or .net I would regret that also, not in a bad way but just that seeing the Zed still around would eat at me and thinking wished I never sold it. Also I have spent an awful lot on the Zed, alloys were 2K, head unit £600 etc etc which unless I pulled them all off the car I will never recoup that money. The idea was to get a car that would be more useful in the winter and with some practicality, winter wheels for the Z4 are going to be an eyewatering £2400 which is what the BMW winter wheel package costs for 18s etc, I'm now actually thinking of buying a very cheap car using it during the winter and selling it again in the spring, seems alot of E89 owners actually do this, will have to see, Ive seen a Suzuki Jimny 4x4 for less than 2K with 69000 on the clock, ideal for winter use. I'm kinda feel better now that I've made the decision not to sell the Z3.
Thanks again.
Tim.
And if it is he may contact me. We all have decisions to make everyday which may or may not be right. I only wanted to let Tim and anyone else that felt they didn't want to run into their cars at events there is an option and still sell to members. I wish I had this forum to fall back on when I bought my car because I was going in blind with not knowing anyone that I could get to check it for me. Fortunetly, after having it valeted and decontaminated I have 156 pics of virtually everything on/ in my car showing the basic condition of virtually everything. And the family and I have a close relationship built up over the past 6 or more months. All removable arcs, shields, etc had to be removed so I can easily see there are no rust problems or hidden damage. JIMYou never know Jim, after two years (see thread start ) it may still be for sale
