Tracking issue?

We followed this "Semi" along the I4 this afternoon and we noticed it was "crabbing" down the road. I guess the trailer axle was way out of alignment.

It'll be the fifth wheel that's at fault Tony. They have a different set up to us over there but I have seen it before here. Shouldn't be using it mind, VOSA would hang you out to dry if you were spotted like that.
 
My 1947 Austin 10 used to be like that after it was hit by a Dustbin lorry ! Still drove it around like that,but it sure wouldn't have passed an MOT these days. Actually that was only one of it's problems !!!!
 
I had something similar many years ago, on a Mk.1 Ford Consul when the top leaf of a rear leaf spring snapped just in front of the axle. The offside of the axle moved back on the shackle. This applied the handbrake and I had to steer to the right to compensate. I still managed to get the 10 miles home. Things were different then.
