Westfalia tow bars are the only ones that are truly BMW Z3 compatible and are like hen’s teeth. I paid £400 for one about 5 years ago. one day I may get around to fitting it!Hello all,
I have just been offered a towbar for a Z3. What would be a fair price? It's a westfalia detachable.
Thanks GZed, does the one in the picture look like yours?Westfalia tow bars are the only ones that are truly BMW Z3 compatible and are like hen’s teeth. I paid £400 for one about 5 years ago. one day I may get around to fitting it!
If you really want one, get it
Yes - You should see ‘Westfalia’ on the nameplate, and ‘BMW’ should be embossed on the hook. Mine came with the BMW bumper with the special cut-out for the hook when attached, and the cover plate for when it’s not. Simple enough to make a cut-out & to fabricate a cover though. Thanks GZed, does the one in the picture look like yours?
Yes, exactly that. Or in my case being a keen cyclist & MTBer, I intend to use it to mount a cycle carrier. Means you can still open the boot (trunk) unlike those strap-on cycle carriers. (And no danger of damaging paintwork)Is that what we in the US call a trailer hitch? You would use it to tow a small trailer or boat.
Thanks
