I saw a member today going to great lengths to make sure his nice shiny new Z.org sticker was applied just so, he even had a spotter watching over him to ensure it was straight. What commitment  Nice one Richard.:)

Any way that very same method of lining things up was widely used at British Leyland .

Find that very hard to believe Steve, you sure it was a Maxi? thought they had all disintegrated by the 80s :D

Did you use a laser level just in case

Maxi? Pah. In Nefyn there's an old boy drives about in a Maestro. And it's LHD, too. Misery and inconvenience.:)

Serves him right for buying the bloody thing ......................................... ;) Wasn't a punishment handed down by a Welsh court by any chance ?=))

Tony.

my Dad had a maxi and never a problem pulled a caravan all around the country only stopped when the rust ate it away.:)
My Mum had one as did a mate of mine and as you say, quite reliable, just rotted like mad. But then again,so did most cars of that era.

They were, like all cars of that time, a lot worse than we remember. I, for one, do not remember all the grief my Dad had with his cars when we were younger and it does distort your memories.:) These days it's not corrosion that kills car but electronics.:(
