Watched the first episode of the new series of Top Gear last night. Maybe, because I wasn't expecting much, it wasn't that bad.

I find Paddy McGuinness quite annoying except in Phoenix Nights or Max and Paddy but I think him and Flintoff seemed to hit it off quite well.

Very samey with the format, which is starting to get a bit tired now. But, it wasn't as bad as Chris Evan's first series so it's earned itself a viewer for the next episode at least.

Plus, they're showing the footage from my hometown when they closed the town centre down early one Sunday morning a few months ago so I gotta see what all the fuss was about.

I watched it last night and thought it was much better than with Matt Le Bland so going to follow this season through.
Looking forward to the Mansfield one, apparently Mr Flintoff crashes into the market stalls at the bottom of Regent St.

I hear Mansfield was improved immensely after Freddie's Feng shui inspired intervention....

Couldn't have made it any worse! :D

I really enjoyed it. A massive improvement on the last series.

A long time ago the program moved away from cars and towards entertainment so it stands to reason the presenters do t need to be car experts but entertainers instead.

I think this is a good direction for the program and will secure its future.

Personally I could have done without Paddy McGuinness, and it just lacked any new ideas, they just seemed to be phoning it in. I think this format has now been done to death. It would be nice to have a proper consumer based car show, rather than three superannuated teenagers larking about.

BBC Worldwide make millions from selling TG across the globe. Until that revenue stream dries up I don’t see them changing format no matter how much the domestic audience wants a change.

I think we will have to continue to use the multiple of independent reviews available on the internet for real world opinions and data.

TG will firmly stay in the entertainment genre based loosely around cars.

As a way of whiling away an hour it was pretty watchable and in the main, not as staged as recent incarcerations.

Watched it and enjoyed the show. Sadly, for me, no other peeps will ever get the chemistry the other 3 had :(

I must admit it was a change from watching Jesica Fletcher etc=)), but it seems same old same old. Changing the three stooges every now and again does make it watchable for about 2-3 episodes. It's not a real motoring program and as such it would be wrong for me to judge it so. 4.5 out of 10 for the humour. Now for me a good program would be on the lines of "killing Eve" think if she was real I'd have to sleep with one eye open.

Rha,Roy.
