Top Down Motoring In Current Climate?

I'm feeling a bit guilty driving (on my necessary journey) with the roof down in all this glorious sunshine.....maybe paranoia but feel I'm getting a few dirty looks from others for enjoying my necessary journey.

Anyone else?
 
I know what you mean, one of my Lad's Hamsters has a lump sprouted on its foot, if I need to take it to the Vet I'll probably go in the spare car to avoid just that
 
Don't give it a second thought. There's plenty of cyclists, walkers and joggers out and about without any cover on them. I'm going to take Fred for a walk later and it's a lovely day here so I'm not going to put my hat on
 
A few weeks ago I went Asda shopping ( when I was allowed too ) , and I always park right over the other side of the car park. When I went to get into Snow White, the queue was going right
passed my Z , all these people we’re looking at me thinking you won’t get all that shopping in that car , but I did and I drove off with the roof down , I didn’t half get some funny looks and heads shaking =))
 
I had to go out the other day and started the journey with my hood up, after about 2 miles I took it down and thoroughly enjoyed the ride, I will be using my Z3 more now as Carrie and Molly remain at home whilst I go out for essentials, If its sunny the roof will be down
 
Well here's the funny thing. My Z3 is off the road just now so I can't go out in it anyway. But if I did I would happily put the roof down. But the strange thing is if I see someone else doing it I think - is that right? My conclusion is no issue but I can see how some people would think otherwise (wrongly IMO).
 
Use mine for work & shopping, roof down all the way, only bit of joy I get at the moment. Do I feel guilty, no, but those who take to the roads for non essential journeys should.
 
Just be careful where you go. A few days ago I had some oik turn towards the road at the edge of the pavement and sneeze violently without covering his face all over may car just as I pulled away from a junction. Thankfully I was in the 3 series with all windows closed. Had I have been in the Z4 with the roof down I would have got the whole lot. Bad at the best of times, but now!
 
I can't do it, just feels wrong rightly or wrongly. I've just disconnected the battery and covered it all till all this blows over.
 
mines a daily driver, I have to go to work, we supply the NHS and care homes amongst others,
I have always put the roof down summer or winter, the only time it is up is for washing (sometimes) or if its raining.
I am not having a party, going to a park, sunbathing, 'newly' exercising or walking backwards through supermarkets.

people need to pick their complaints.
 
Strange really. I've had a convertible car of some description for over 25 years. However in this strange new world, when I'm out walking and see a convertible go past, my first reaction is that they're taking the p*ss. My Z is a hobby car, so it'll stay tucked up in the garage until this sh*t is over
 
While this situation last, the Z is being used as the daily altough that stil only means about one trip a week.

Making the most of a terrible situation as far as I’m concerned!
 
If the weather is right the hood should come down as you would normally use this type of vehicle. If your the type that's worried there's a risk of getting wet with it down then you'd have it up. Bit like sex really, way up the risk and use the protection available. Not rocket science is it.????? Lmao. =))

Don't see why we should be made to feel guilty
I am doing nothing I wouldn't normally do, and with no increased risk,
unlike the myriad of 'new exerciser's' out there that really are taking the p..

Yes, you're right, but somehow I do feel a bit guilty about being seen driving with the hood down. Have to agree about the 'new excersisers', I don't think I've ever seen so many people out walking, jogging or cycling.

Don't feel guilty Rob, no reason you should. I need a trip to the post office and I'll go in the Z, top down, if it's fine.

ps. And I won't be going at breakneck speed as many are doing in cars and on bikes (by far the worst culprits) these days because mostly the roads are quiet. One day soon they will come across a Tractor coming out of a gate thinking the road will be clear ................
 
I had to go into town today, the beauty about where I live is that I have miles of rural roads before I get to a shop, so it was business as normal, hood down all the way.
