Looked at getting a tool chest have random tools everywhere . I could always justify it the wife in a way that she saw it as a tidying up purchase
One way of getting a decent quality top box is to find your local Snap-On or Mac Tools dealer and see if they have any recent part exchange ones to sell on. I got my one at home from the local Snap-On guy for £30. It's a Sykes-Pickavant but plenty ok for home. Quite often these are available for £££££

No, no....no!
Tidying up sets a dangerous precedent? You could get us all in to deep trouble with suggestions like that

No, the garage is a man's domain, the house, well that's another matter. I hate it when Shirl has something she doesn't want/need anymore and it gets dumped in my garage. The cheek of it !:)

I hang my tools on the wall now, and have drawn around them so I know when @g8jka has borrowed one.....
my shadow board:

Pringles tubs are great for tie-wraps!

the spanner rack sets are great for just taking under the car, along with the orange and red socket set boxes..

who can spot the Zeus guide?

Halfords get the tough time they deserve, but when it comes to some of their tool stuff they are incredibly good quality. If only they carried it through to their staff!
I've got their 200 piece socket set and it's great. It doesn't get hammered but certainly for light use it's superb.

Mine only stands about 4' 8" or so mate. I'd need a ladder to use that top box =))
