Just read how it works @t-tony another case of manufacturers not making cars maintenance friendly. Thanks @Bozzy for the major hint.
So much easier these days Brian, since they started to use 2 or even 1 small screw to locate them isn't it? Apart from VW who decided to use allen screws - bad idea.

Is it to do with the brake cylinder it installs the circlips to hold them into the back plate :thumbsup:

ps. The two different threaded bits are for Metric and Imperial threaded cylinders.
