Be careful leaving the hood down, they should be closed frequently to ensure the hood fits correctly, can lead to issues if left open for too long
Thanks Paul, what about people with a hard tip on for periods of time? Surely it’s no different ?

Its a manufacturers recommendation (well it was by Ford) to avoid problems with the hood, as Grumps has already had issues, not insurmountable but saves grief with excess stress on the locking mechanism as with age these are vulnerable and at £275 each expensive to replace

The way I see it is if the soft top is perfectly dry when you put it down it should retain it's shape and not shrink, however if it's damp when you put it down and leave it for an extended period it could shrink as it dries.

I've still got the hard top on my silver zed and it will stay on until I get my storage space back, so I'll report back with my findings

I agree mate, I store mine with the hood down and when I had my hard top on I had no bother at all, one thing I did notice that was when the hood first saw water after a long period of being dry (when I was restoring the car) it leaked until it had got damp and swelled

Watching this as mine does a similar thing.
Lay it out on the ground and it looks fine, but as sion as I fit it and tuck the edge in I get two areas where it bulges in similar to jonnysnapzz pic.
Really annoying.

Do you also have a ridge across the top by any chance, the top should sit flat with a gentle roll towards the back and front

My tonneau bulges in both sides as shown. I am using the longer studs and clip it down on both the rear and front studs.
