Today at Jack Smith trimmers.

Tidy mate, I think the Imola is going to Jacks, £300 bargain.

Looks very good, is the rear window stitched in or zippered? Guess at that price would not matter too much to replace every few years but just curious.

What a bargain at £300 :p
It looks great ;)

The window is stitched in. You are right @cn55 at that price you could replace it every 3 years.

Great job mate and great price too. We've spent many a weekend in Swansea when our son was at uni there and we think it's great place. Those Welsh boys and girls know how to party =)) Hotels are not too expensive and taxis are half the cost of the ones in Cornwall.

The fit looks really good. He told me to leave the roof up for a few days. I haven't washed the car or driven in the rain yet. Any issues and I will post them up.
I'm sure it'll be great, look forward to see how you get on with it. I'm hoping to go myself and fit a lovely new burgundy top at some point although plenty of life left in mine. The blue on yours looks excellent.

I used him for my old S2000 and he is the go to guy on the S2000 forums.
The finish wasn't perfect, but for £300 you wouldn't complain. If you are a perfectionist or have show condition car then I would suggest going else where.
But as said previously, you can have a new one every few years for that price.
It was water tight and was still in as new condition 2 years later when I sold the car. (The car was stored out doors all year round BTW).
The BMW dealer who I part ex'd the car to commented on how good it was and it helped me achieve a great part ex price.
An added bonus it that there are some great roads on the way down there. I got there an hour early, so turned around and went back over the mountain just for fun.

I might have some photos at home from when I had it done, I'm on my hols at the moment so will have a look tomorrow when I get back.
Don't let my comment put you off, when I need a new hood I will be straight back down there.....but he does it for half the price of most places and you get what you pay for.

mine was £280 fitted about 3 years ago i got the receipt from the previous owner.. Thanks Sue :-) .... still looks good now, and water tight, only thing i will say, is there were a few trim caps and bolts missing on my car, and a lot of glue / sealant on my beige rear carpet... I can only put this down to him maybe not having a lot of experience with fitting z3 roofs 3 years ago, and i think he worked then from a different premises... i dont think i would hesitate to go there if ever i need another roof done in the future... as all the ones i have seen done lately have been good quality...

Me think a new roof is on the cards, will have to get in touch with him and see when he will be able to fit me in:whistle:

Well worth a overnight stay have the monies ready for just the tie so probably a autum/winter job for me. I wished I had the roof liner though.
Does he fit them with the liner Mark? I'll be going in the winter and would prefer a loner roof this time.

Oh right wasn't aware of that mate.

yeah Jack r smith seems to be building up a bit of a client base for z3's..... mines all good mine was done about 3 years ago now.. not by me the previous owner. cost her £280 then.. i think he may have gone up slightly now though....
