My 2.8 has stood for months at a time and no issues, it's well over 100k too. not sure it's such a big deal on a modern engine regular engine like this. Maybe on an S50 or S54 with seriously tight tolerances but the 2.8 is workhorse of an engine for models right up to the 7 series.
I had a serious tappety noise on a airfield day with some heavy cornering but that went away after some more use. BMW 6 engines engines are well know for that though.
