A little spider had decided to crawl behind the screen of the Z3's instruments, presumably via the reset button, and has then promptly died. So now there is this dead spider stuck right underneath my speedo and it's really annoying me. It's almost as bad as the check engine light being on. So if anyone knows "The quick and easy way of removing a dead spider from a Z3 instrument cluster, I'm all ears...

If it crawled in there via the reset, it should come out the same way with the help of a vacuum cleaner.. I dont know how to use one of those, I would have to ask my wife...

Maybe in the short term put a thin black pinstripe along the bottom of the glass so you're not looking at it when you should be looking at the road

Might end up a longer term solution because I don't know if a hoover would have enough suck to budge it. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the glass front is glued into the panel so even if you took out the panel you wouldn't get the front glass off.

I know yours has shuffled off this mortal coil. But I'm a right mug for wild life, I am, and if I ever saw a live one pacing up and down behind the glass I'd have to do some thing drastic to save it - like strip out the panel or drill a hole to push flies through to feed poor old Octavius. There I told you I was a mug. I've even named it.

To the OP's conundrum, I'd suggest removing the cluster from the car and then following this guide to split it open and remove your stowaway

Give the vacuum cleaner a go over the reset button if that fails remove the cluster and dismantle it to get to it. Z4 clusters come apart easy enough Z3 should be similar.
