They really suffered badly on it but hopefully you'll have swerved it. Bloody Stonking car tho mate, quite jealous actually!!
It is a beast, really is. I drove it home pretty sedately through a storm and achieved almost 29mpg. Since then, I've given it the once over and convinced myself it's solid in all aspects, and so I've struggled to get above 17mpg ! Lol.

I love that shape E class. For me they lost the plot after that.
I agree, the old E was far superior in build quality to my new one. Granted the new one is lower specified, the fit and feel of the whole car was better though. Arguably just not as reliable, but thats simply down to age.

Hi Tony, was dreading you spotting this thread lol.

I suspect the mpg will settle to about 25. My wife will drive this one too though so god knows where it'll end up. In a nice way of course. :)

I think I must be a rare one who likes the Z4 mate, but I have said to a few people that if my Z3 had been a 2.8 , 3.0 or even an ///M I wouldn't have got the Z4. But with so low miles and it has to be a daily driver for me the 4 is ahead of the 3. I do still like driving the Z3 though and keep giving it an outing to keep it right.:)

I went through the same curve! I did enjoy my time with the Z4, but I just preferred driving the Z3 more.
Same here...

I fully understand, one thing that did bother me was that sound generator. The 'quiet' piece of foam had been removed and it just sounded fake. I didn't keep it long enough to insert it back in !

Yeah, I removed that one evening and replaced it the following lunch time, was bloody awful. Best sound generator I've found is select sport mode and use manual shift, nice noises that way. I may have to do a Moz on the back box at some point.

I don't know about the sound, but yes, sport button and manual shifting was the best way to get the most out of the engine. Very good off the mark.
