Thinking of buying a gas mig to take up welding??
Get yourself on a basic cylinder safety course, it’s cheap insurance. Can even do them online.
You might not end up as lucky as this clown.
Breaks pretty much every rule in the book and somehow gets away with it. Just.

MTCW, buy a good welder, half the trick is the equipment, a crap welder does a crap job, no-matter what your skills maybe. It,s a pleasure to lay down a good weld with good equipment...I cant help myself, even when I,m caulking...

I went through the gas and gasless MIG welding research recently. Ended up buying a good quality stick MAG welder instead. To get a good MIG that was not going to have wire feed problems as it ages was several times more expensive. You basically want a commercial grade machine with a removable hand piece not a home handyman unit with a fixed handpiece.

Neither of these two has ever let me down, Mig for alloy and MMA for metal. Both BOC. good machines for the money..

Another thing that should be mentioned, Get a good helmet with good glass especially if autotint variable, those are not all created equally either, cheap ones can be too slow for sensitive eyes or prolonged exposure. and seeing what you are doing is fairly important... :)

An then there is this little beauty, The "F#$@ everyones eyes up 2000". Be the envy of your shop-mates...

Envy of your shopmates?
