Then they add postage of around £6, but you can choose next day for around 10

theres a ball valve pressure release thing on there i can only blow one way as the other end is open... dont really know which way the water flows throught the stat.. its worth testing it... i have picked the gasket out but suspect i will have to get a new one as dont want torisk losing water from a ferked gasket...

The part that sticks out goes into the water jacket, it goes right through and covers a hole which leads through to an inner part of the jacket, once open in allows full circulation of the water, when closed the engine runs a kind of short curcuit

Looking at it from the back, water flows through the side that had the thermostat

Make sure you buy one WITH the casket as some eBay ones don't have them

What I noticed with mine is, with it still in situ, it will allow air through in one direction ( the direction of the water flow) but then closes when blowing air the opposite way. But it is still stuck. Doesn't make any sense until you factor in the part that sticks out and have a look when it goes.

OK, the part you are looking at is also heat actuated, it has a small hole to allow the bleeding of air, the flat washer looking part is the inner part, this also is heat actuated and is the part most likely to stick, unless the part you are playing gets cap under it maybe
