My Z hasn't been driven since I had to go into hospital a couple of months ago. Well, New Year's Day dawned dry bright and sunny so I thought it would be nice to take the old girl out for a blast. ) section of rural dual carriageway. "What's that smell of burning?" I thought. Then I looked in the drivers side mirror only to see blue smoke wisping out of the rear wheelarch. Soon as I could I pulled over to check and the wheel was well warm to say the least and covered in brake dust. Stuck caliper
. Fortunately not so bad that I couldn't get home safely.
Spent the afternoon Googling for new calipers. I have to say I was mildly surprised that the best price I could find was a Pagid one from Euro Car Parts at £119 less £27 on return of the old unit. Maybe my memories are stuck in a time when a set of pads for anything but the most exotic cost about seven quid....
