I was following Bozzy out of Susworth on Sunday when we came upon an idiot on a bike (I honestly don't know how else to describe him) he was riding in the centre of the road and didn't look like shifting. It was me who hit the horn button by the way, not Bozzy. After Bozzy had passed he was going to pull back to the centre of the road until I used my horn again. I suspect he was listening to music, or he was deaf. He never looks back to see what's behind him either.

Yes this lycra lout certainly was a prize clown :meh:.
Great footage b.t.w..

Nice Jag.....:)
And it looks like you live in the Netherlands Big Ears......

Nice old Mk 2 Mike. It is very flat out there as it's the Trent flood plain if it ever to breeched at this side of the river, so the fields all grow right up to the roadside and are incredibly flat. The river is just the other side of that flood bank mate. South end of Lincolnshire used to known as New Holland because of the flat Fenlands.

Pretty bad example of riding. Of course if either of you had clipped him it would have been your fault:(

Very true Dave, and I very nearly did !!

Tony.

Too true Pete, I wish he had a helmet cam because I got more on mine ! The bloke is an idiot. End of.

He was certainly a bit 'dog muck' , all over the place! One thing I would point out, being a keen motorist and cyclist, is that when cycling there is always 'wind roar' in your ears so you can't always hear cars coming up from behind. On country lanes when I'm not expecting a lot of traffic I appreciate people letting me know they are coming past so a beep before overtaking is a good idea.
I doubt if the cyclist was being deliberately obtuse, didn't look the type, but you do get them.
The difference is bad motorists kill people, bad cyclists and many perfectly innocent cyclists get killed.

True Ken, but wouldn't you have had a glance over your shoulder? I would, and yes I ride bikes too.

See loads of cyclists with headphones in. How do they expect to live, when they can't even hear anything else going on around them!!

That's another thing Jim, most mornings I could clean up a pedestrian listening to their iPod as I pull into work, yet if I give them a quick toot they give you a black look !!

Completely agree, headphones in, head down, hoody (usually up) - completely unaware of the world around them. Then they look at you like your in the wrong!!:mad:

Thinking of getting myself a dash cam, just for when the Lemmings decide to jump!!

That's why we both run them mate.and I'm fitting a rear facing one now too.

Totally agree about headphones etc, I've had several pedestrians looking at phones or listening to music walk out in front of me, especially when I'm on my bike!
I've also had stupid cyclists who are faster than me (not difficult these days) wizzing past too close without letting me know they are coming.
The fact is there are a lot of 'tw.ts' out there on foot,on bikes, motorbikes and other vehicles and we just have to be careful.
I must say that I find it odd that so many motorists go on so much about cyclists. I've been driving since 1966,driven all sorts except HGVs , but I've only been cycling since 1987 and yet I've never really had a problem with cyclists. I've never had a journey significantly held up by cyclists whereas I've been held up for hours by problems caused by idiot motorists.
I see motorists driving carelessly and dangerously every time I travel anywhere and so I drive assuming that other drivers are likely to do something unexpected. It's scary! Yes , I see stupid cyclists, but that's a minor problem and they are mostly a danger to themselves.

My driving instructor, on my very first lesson said " Treat everyone else on the road as an idiot" and it was very good advice regardless of the mode of transport.

Oh no! the scourge of the MAMILs.....thats Middle Aged Men In Lycra.

I'm a keen cyclists too but I'll never get why some choose this gear over Hi vis...and why they feel safer riding two abreast, or why some seem to choose dangerously narrow roads.

What? does that mean they could actually ride a bike, without wearing an outfit that makes them look like a balloon full of potatoes?
It must purely be a fetish thing then.=))
I couldn't be arsed to spend an hour getting dressed up for a half hour bike ride.

Tut tut, Mk1 Jag Tony, and looks like it has coombs rear arches. Bloody lycra clad t**ts are all over the lanes around Staffs and the farm, middle of the road is their normal position and doggedly sit there refusing to let motorists get past. I saw a pack of them swing into a main road refusing to give way at the junction with the main road, traffic on the main road had to swerve around them or clean them up. Their arrogence defies belief.
