Good job Andy. Does your wiper catch on the bonnet at all; think a fairly common Z3 issue?

There's a gap slimmer than a rizzla. Can't say I've noticed to be honest, next time I'm out (whenever that is) I'll put the wipers and check.

Caused by wear in the windscreen wiper spindle, which allows the spindle to move towards the back edge of the bonnet.

Tony.

Winter inner sills check. Not to bad really, should clean up nicely then protected accordingly. Out sills still bearing up well. A good clean and tend to some very minor corrosion. One side at a time.

Victory is mine! 1 x rear quater panel off, that bolt won't be going back in for sure :bashhead:

Drivers side outer sill, front and rear drivers side panel out, washed and a thick layer of ACF-50 applied to future proof. Primary sills cleaned inside and given a healthy dose of Waxoil and the inner body panels and wheel arches cleaned and given a nice layer of ACF-50. Plastic wheel arch liners cleaned too whilst they're out. Just the surface corrosion on the primary sills to remove, treat then a Liberal dose of Hammerite.

I now know why the two extra bolts were holding the wing to the bumper :arghh:
20210218_151712.jpg

First side done and put back together then spotted the gap from the panel to the rear light :arghh: Wheel arch liner back out and the first of the two bolts in, one to go, the really difficult one, just no space :arghh: In short, she's had a minor rear end shunt at some point so all is not aligned so the two additional bolts pull the rear wing down to where it should be. Wondered why the shut line from bumper to wing was out of kilter, now I know.
Anyway, tomorrow is another day and that's what leave is for so I'll get to it early doors.

That's all looking nice and tight with shiny inners, great job.
Spent a lot of time on the bottom and ends of the sills going back to clean steel where needed, should hopefully last a while now 🤞

The best stuff I found for cleaning off all of the crud on the panels under the plastic liners was Cif mousse spray. bloody easy cleaning, spray it, agitate it, leave it and wipe it off with a damp sponge. Paint comes up good as new :). Cant take any credit though, I read it on here somewhere.
