The wonders of BMW's

Oh for the simple days. I bought a 56 Pontiac and a 68 impala from an old farmer. Brought the cars home, put a battery, cranked it over with 1968 fuel still in the tank just for chuckles and damned if it didn't start on the third try and idled like new after about five min and took it for a drive after 15. Can you say Non- Leaded Gas???
We will never reach these peacefull times when, beside the ignition coil, there was nothing "misterious " in the electric components of the car!
The time will come when I would like You to share with Us the old cars you have, because I'm also an oldtimer lover! The Zed I have , 1996, it's the youngest in the family ....and the last.
5 years ago, when I was looking for a "normal" (everyday) car I was trying to avoid the car with electronics, but it was too late: the only car attracting me, was of course, the Z3, which still has 4 computer units ! Nowadays the cars on the market are almost drone cars!
Luckily for us it's one of the most reliable beemer and roadster in operation!:)

No problem sharing what I have! It's a mismatched lot for sure, some European, some NA and includes a 1960 Mercedes 319C small bus and a 71 GM 25' motor home which is the ugliest thing on six wheels. It resembles a space shuttle and is a real crowd attraction no matter where it is. I'll go into more details once the snow melts away and I can put up pics to go with the tales. Anything in particular you're interested in? Perhaps some of our American commrades can share their stories in the meantime. Anyone have anything lurking around. JIM

loads of new abbreviations all the more to go wrong. EGR, DPF, CAT, MAF, Oh the wonder of modern engines and the quest for fuel efficiency, especially diesels which love going up and down the motorway but regular town driving kills them.

Best bit was it wasn't even the egr valve it was a engine mount sensor!

I hope that wasn't main dealer prices.

Always liked IACV. Sounded more like a back problem.

It can now be revealed that Monica Lewinsky is dyslexic and Bill Clinton completely innocent.. Apparently he sent Monica a memo saying, " Hold my calls and sack my cook."
