Much smaller than flying ants more like small mosquitoes. I'm hoping they have all gone absolutely everything was covered in them.

Flying ants are normally much bigger than the common workers. This week I've been doing some patio work. Lifted a slab and there's squillions of the little blighters. As you said - smaller than usual. Strange. Especially since we had 'flying ant day' around 2 weeks ago.
