ok so some of you guys have wondered why iv not been out on as many runs this year and the truth is we have been skint and have put or efforts into this little house we have.
my missus runs her own business so between us have 2 vans a Renault Megane and 2 Zeds...so space was getting a bit tight.
6 month ago we cam up with a plan that would 1 get her an office at home instead of renting one 2 would get me a garage for the M or caterham (which ever one i decided i was going to go for) 3 have a nice place to have people round for a bit of a barbi..(invite to you all) ;)

we have dug out 27 tonnes by hand :-o
and started with this..

now we had to start leveling it...i'll be honest my body went into shock......27 tonnes :-o
my son in law got stuck in (good lad) ;)

so on the work went through winter...starting to get the footings in..

starting to take shape..

then a few weeks ago we started on the block paving and got the office in and wired up...got all the tops of the walls in and put the topper lights on.....the garage is going where the old shed is

this weeks work was to move the side fence by 18 inches so the cars would fit up.....swampets in spain at the mo so i thought it would be nice for her to see when shes back ;)

and all this just so i could get another car....im knackered! :((

Great job swamps
You have worked hard and in the winter
Mud, rain and cold weather
I love the block paving it sets it off
Well done that man :-bd

cheers Ray...theres been quite a few fall out but its been worth it.... :D

cant wait for the garage opening ceremony :beer

I recently bought a wooden workshop from Malvern
they advertise on ebay
I think they did wooden Garages
A lot cheaper than brick or precast one
Just a thought

yep that what im going for so it ties in with the office......£800 @16x10 foot

A good idea more room than a brick garage
thinner walls, just watch out for condensation
In my new workshop, being winter its taking so long for
the preservative to dry
Anything metal or plastis just drips with water
Also wood is kinder than brick to the car ;)

Looking much better mr //M

(keeping you off the roads too :D ) and dont forget a nice big bunch of flowers in mrs swampers office for her return, lots of brownie points can be earned which i am sure you will need
:D

Looking good Wayne, love the brick sets all the hard graft has really paid off :-bd
Just needs me now sat on the patio bacon butty in one hand coffee in tother :D

:ymalien:

Great effort Wayne ;)

I'm a carpenter / builder and know how hard it can be.. Especially when it's your own place..
It will all be worth it in the end when your Ms tucked up snug in the garage :D

Well done :-bd

Ps we look forward to the BBQ!! :beer

thanks peeps....like i say your all invited to the grand opening :))
good idea about the flowers Gill ;)

yep...it'll be "what have you done wrong"! :-s

dont count your chickens so to speak Gaz...theres a long way to go yet #:-s
gates for the front
garage in
rendering the walls
side flagged
ramp built for the front to get into the side
electric install for the garage
wall light put in
finish the block off
vehicle lift in garage....(its on the cards) :))
theres other bits and bobs......so only 2 more years to go :))

Never mind about not getting flowers, get a really nice bunch with a box of choccies in there, she will appreciate it loads, then she will ask you what you've broken :D i can assure you it will be well worth it :D

Was she on the job? If so I would have liked to of helped out.
