Winning Post was empty this morning when I went for fuel. Having said that, it doesn't take much.

Ukraine. Oil hit $105 barrel earlier today. If Ukraine continues for any length of time the dollar price is heading in one direction only, so the price at the pumps . . .
Also (worryingly), I was thinking of posting about the price of gas & leccy . . .
I've been on a fix that expires end March, paying £113/month. Except I'm in credit so the last few months has been £13/month, but nevermind. I got the pre-email this morning, going on to the standard tariff (that Martin Lewis recommends), its increasing to £270 /month. And theres an unknown increase in April already.
And now Ukraine. If I remember, 40% of Europe's gas comes from Russia (I seem to recall the UK quantity is slightly less, but the markets pricing is all interconnected). So with expected sanctions (surely) against Russia, how would you expect them to respond . . .
I wonder if I can reconvert the fireplace back to coal . . . ?

Tescos here in Risca South Wales were out of Diesel and 4*, had to treat the Funeral Limo to 99 Octane

Think we only import around 4% of our usage from russia - doesnt stop the market price increasing though, and us paying more- hope for a warm summer.

Just filled up (Shell VPower) and asked had they been busy with people filling up, they had discussed this in the garage and did not consider any change from normal pattern. Price same as its been for last 6 weeks £1.579 litre.
All normal in Manchester - however I did note that it was nearly £90 to fill up the Evoque last week.... close to £100 a tank !!!
I filled my car yesterday but only because the low fuel light had come on. It cost £63.80 to neck it.

Normal demand and rip off here
Most of the filling stations near me have run out. Tesco still had a few live pumps at 07.00 this morning, but it won't last long. Another 2 weeks of self inflicted misery until it settles down again. What's wrong with these people?
Price of oil is up, and that means higher pump prices are coming - folks are trying to save a bit of money by filling up now, before the increases.
Ironically 2 of our major oil refineries are backed by Russian money
Our water bill thudded onto the carpet this morning. I said to Shirl, “Well, at least don’t get our water from Russia”.
