A lot of people would remove the prop shaft and transfer housing and make it a 2 wheel drive. Sterling rack not a major issue.

Tony.
Agreed Tony but the C-in-C needs a good motor today for the school run etc. Sadly its just not cost effective, time to move on :(

Absolutely mate, just saying there's life in the old girl for someone.

Bang on mate. Somebody with the time would have a quality motor, she's in top Nik generally

It's a good looking car Andy, would be a shame to see it broken up but sadly that's the fate of many vehicles these days.

The engine, gear box and body work are a
:scorecard: mate, she's been a good family car. Not as good as the Galaxy but good nonetheless

Different cracked is the biggest problem as really it needs replacement .
Dont take this the wrong way Andy but if you don't need 4wd why not take out the prop centre viscous coupling ,rear diff and the rear shafts just leave the outer cv to hold the rear bearings together and make the freelander 2wd save a fortune on splashing out on a new one .

It's all fair comments Stephen but circumstances dictate that the C-in-C needs a car now. School run, after school clubs, shopping etc. I'm overseas at the mo so getting a motor to do the Buisiness is the main thing. C-in-C and off-spring need to be the priority.

Yup :D We tend to keep our cars for a while but they just get battered where we live, and then some mate.

We took the prop off both of ours when the transfer boxes went on them. Drove mint without and better MPG to boot.

Do you mean you don’t have a gatehouse at the entrance to the estate where the ‘town cars’ are parked - then have the butler shuttle you in the Range Range Rover to and from the manor house so that the town cars don’t get muddy??
