NOW YOU KNOW WHY MY RACK IS ON THE WAY IT IS. MY SECRET'S OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frankie mate, it's not been a secret since last June bud.=))=))

Tony.

Perhaps someone could actually ask the manufacturer, or would that be just too boring and would stop the fun and endless comical bantering!!!!!

If the rack had the lip facing towards the rear of the car it would make use of the OEM suitcase awkward... can't remember seeing any BMW press shots showing the fitment for sheep :baa

Why would anyone want to open a suitcase while it is attached to the rack? I'd keep my sarnies in the door pocket or in the missus's handbag

The thing is if you drive a m44 your never going to be in any danger of accelerating fast so you can mount your rack backwards safe in the knowledge that your luggage is safe from acceleration loss, and you will never go fast enough to break hard thereby safe from a bash on the back of the noggin.

So by this reckoning I think you're saying that on an M44 you could cut the lip off as it's surplus to requirements therefore saving weight and wind resistance and will gain speed?:ymdevil:

To our new member Jim.

Please, Jim. We didn't forget about you. You can see just how crazy we all are here. Don't be afraid to jump right in. Frankie, from 3000 miles away.
