And it can only get lower as he welds yet more into it. And fills the tank up. And puts a bit of luggage in the boot. I do hope he's not going to wind up having to chop away half the wings, but we'll just have to wait.
 
I think he’s going get narrower wheels Mick and perhaps smaller dia. which will mess with the gearing.

When I saw the first of these videos I thought - what the heck is he doing ? I must admit, its growing on me - I'm getting a bit invested in how this turns out . . .

Driving down the road in a Beetle-thats-actually-a-Zed. Who would have thought . . .

I’ve been watching just found it interesting seeing how the zed is built and quite well. As for the build Ok it’s a hot rod of sorts give him credit for that and the vision for creating it but I wouldn’t fancy a prang in that, just doesn’t look safe to me. The Volvo build of his friend does look interesting Tony and looks a more solid build.
 
Issue with the Volvo build is that the original engine and gearbox have been removed and they make up a major part of the front end vehicle structure where collision force is transmitted back through the chassis courtesy of the engine and gearbox. Now, there's just a great big hole and some "tin" welded to the bulkhead so I wouldn't fancy a prang in that one either. I guess the moral of the story is they're best left alone. I doubt you could even get a thing like those insured over here, some companies won't touch a car which has been modified in any way.

Fair point there Tony. Finished last night a build on Toms turbo garage installed an LS3 into a Toyota truck nice upgrade if you had the cash and all of his equipment plus a bit of experience. I do like his LS3 transplant into a MX5. That reminds me If Deano is still knocking around in his monster that he built.
