When I got to 6 Z3s my missus said it's me or the cars. I'm gonna miss her.
If I have room for it and I can land it on my drive (well my Parent's drive mostly) cheap enough then I'll buy it. I tend to spend £1,000 or less on distressed cars and worry about what I'll do with it later.
But I haven't got the same ruthless streak that a lot of people have for breaking good cars. It would need to be chassis damaged, unecomical to repair or just plain tired with 130k plus miles for me to break it.
I've ploughed a lot of money into Z3s and see very little of it back from the bits I sell. But hey, I'm just about to complete my 3rd car saved from the scrap heap. And they've all turned out as nice as any other car.
But I'm struggling parting with them. The first is my brother's 1.9 from new so that isn't going anywhere. The next 2 are 2.2s one for Swindon and one for Swansea when it's finished. Not cheap keeping a £3k Z3 in each town but it makes me happy
I've got 3 more waiting in the wings and they'll all be repaired. A solid but mechanically tired 1.9. A 2.2 with duff cam sensors and a spanker of a 2.2 with a wiring fault.
Anyway. Don't break it if it's a good'un! I'd even struggle to remove the original parts and replace them with lower standard parts. But I probably would do that if needs be.
Too bl**dy soft for my own good no doubt.
