Ok so we need to know areas for hotels , looking forward to it

Sounda great. Yea @pgunter please tell us what accomodstion we should book. We'll go with your recommendation. Or maybe ask Toni to have a look into it?

As for 'meeting' point once off the tunnel in Calais maybe i would suggest the 1st services? Last year it was bloody nightmare with me and Lee and bessie blue being the only ones at the meeting point as we had turned right off the train. Everyone else had turned left and gone elsewhere. We lost bessie blue and ended up catching up with everyone at the services anyway. Might be worth saying meet there and avoiding getting lost??

We have booked into the astoria for tues wed and thurs night .as per millers link.
As we are leaving on friday morn to travel back to cailais over two days. catch the chunnel either late sat night and stay at the prem inn ashford.or stay around st omer to catch tbe train early sun morn

We're in The Astoria the same as you but we're in the cheap annex ;)........ .Swiss passes mmmmmoooooeeeerrr

The Mints are booked into the Astoria for Tue/Wed/Thu as we shall start our run back to the tunnel on Friday morning. We will stop somewhere to break the journey and catch the tunnel on Sat morning.

Any ideas where to break the journey between Spa and the Hotel Astoria as that is a 500 mile trip. Where did you stop in Epinal @MAURICE THE MARTIAN?

Those old roads provide as much or more fun @miller1098 and personally I've travelled as many of those as the main pass roads and found them most exciting especially when you meet a bus coming around a bend!! We once did a trip on one of these roads over the Alps from Germany to Italy and had planned to return through a pass but it got shut down so we had to return the same road in a heavy fog along with all the tour buses! Now that was exciting!! JIM

Dave it will be the Ibis Epinal Centre (not the budget) by the river as that is where we always stay as they have parking and a nice sitting out area and a bar

Cheers Bill, thanks for info. Received a PM from Moz:thumbsup:

Right, we are now booked in at the Ibis Epinal Centre : https://www.booking.com/hotel/fr/ibis-epinal-centre.en-gb.html for the Monday 12th June. Just been speaking with Moz @MAURICE THE MARTIAN and he will be stopping there as well, he thinks Hugh will be also. We're booked for all the hotels now, just the tunnel to sort.
The rest of you : @pgunter, @Oldguysrule, @Lee, @GazHyde, @Nodzed, @Mr C, @mwpe, @Jack Ratt, @miller1098 - come on, you need to get your bookings sorted out:thumbsup:

To quote Paul...
They seem to have gone very quiet..

As mint says if we are to run down to the Astoria together we need to be booking.
This ibis has a bar.outside seating area and food can be obtained nearby.ie nice chinese round corner or french cafes .and a nice riverside walk for the romantics amongst you.
