Hello all.
I joined this group back in November after being told that my beloved Z3 was not worth repairing as the rear arms were corroded and difficult to replace. My post was answered by fellow members Steve AKA spurs fan in a coupe, Lee and Malc who between them got the arms, refurbished them and delivered them to my home address. I want to wish each of you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. One day I would love to buy you a beer and thank you properly. You have all restored my faith in human kindness. Thank you.

@Rusty great to hear you got the parts and knowledge you need to keep your Z going. That is what this forum delivers, day in, day out.

Tony.

Nice one chaps.

Your very welcome Rusty, may you get many more happy years from your Z3.
Lee, My garage has started to fit the arms but has come up with another problem in that the CV joints on the drive shafts both sides are seized. They need near and offside drive shafts or the outer CV joints for both sides. Malcolm also suggested they check the fuel tank straps and sure enough they need replacing too!
Can you help with these parts please as they are not available from BMW.
Many thanks
Rusty

Evening Rusty, we keep plenty of the fuel tank strap kits in stock. Drive shafts are harder to find, I might have a pair kicking around in the unit. I'll be back down there Friday. (Currently working nights :D )

OK that's great. I couldn't believe it when the garage rang me a told me there was a further problem. I can get a fuel strap from malc as he is close by. Take care.

Hello Lee
Any luck with the drive shafts.
Regards
Rusty

Can they not remove the arms and rear hubs complete and press the old shafts out? Why do they say you need new shafts?

Tony.

Might be easier your garage @Rusty bringing the old arms to
Me.
Been easier if you’d had it to start with 😂(I know the sheds very busy), I really have my doubts about many “ professionals “

We’ve just finished our last project for the year. All the other side car also completed so we’re actually empty of zeds. Having a good clear down ready for new year.
