The Ace

It's pretty much as it says really, an iconic petrol head haunt that has specific bike and car nights throughout the year. Rock up, pop bonnets, point and talk about mods on your car/bike etc. Drink coffee and eat cake

First ever Motorway service station a regular haunt for cars and bikes in the London area

I’ve thought about going there many times as there are loads of meets, but it’s a part of London that is always busy. I live less than 20 miles from there but it usually takes well over an hour to get to that part of town for me. I can be somewhere less busy along the south coast on more enjoyable roads in less than an hour, so usually do that instead.

When I had my motorbikes and lived in London, I used to go there regularly. Now, not so much...

Sounds great fun Geoff!

It is worth a visit, easy to get to, just go down the M40/A40 and turn left at Hangar Lane. It's just down from there. No need to go into London.

The original cafe of the cafe-racers, some might say.

Before I met her, my now wife of half a century+ used to frequent the Cellars in Windsor with a chap who had a Royal Enfield Constellation similar to the picture below. I seem to recall her saying they went to the Ace occasionally too, but never to the Busy Bee near Watford. She's not in that picture though - it's bit too early, perhaps even 1950s
