Those Rods on the Runnymede write up remind me of a time way back around 1980. Me and the then girlfriend were over in the UK from germany and we'd gone to a drag race meet (as spectators) to watch the amazing Gonzo do his stuff (He's still doing it I think). Somewhere in the north east. (long time ago can't remember exactly where)
Anyway. As we arrived one of the stewards tried to direct my Matra Bagheera into the adjacent car show Kit Car pen - so I squirted him with crazy string (quite a normal thing to do back then) and sped off into the 'normal' car park.
Anyway. In the drag racing intermission there was a kit car parade up and down the track and I nearly fell of the embankment laughing coz there was an Opel GT parading with the kit cars. The steward had obviously struck again
