I want to say 'thank you' to all the people that assisted me in making this ambitious project successful. This was a huge step of faith to take this on as I am the type of guy that gets nervous taking out a door card! Special mention to @Southernboy for very specific help and @spurs fan in a coupe for the special effort in posting me the Ipanel which was the reason for the whole project. Everything went back and I am pleased with the result [except I have 4 screws left over - oh well! ].

Below is the picture I took just before I started putting Brandy back together again.

Wow @Cooper, I got sweaty palms when I took my centre console out and it got to this stage. Total respect to you for undertaking it!

Well done... after this exercise, you should be encouraged... you're obviously more capable than you give yourself credit for. The 4 screws you have left over...2 probably go inside at the top in the radio aperture..... and did you replace the 2 screws which hold the top of the aircon controls left and right?

The centre console was by far the most time consuming and challenging. If you are confident with that the 'dash out' is a piece of cake!

I got the aircon control screws in left and right in the radio area. I am stumped where these go and I labelled the bag as well! They are silver in colour with washers. Had a good look and just skipped them....... I will save them for the next time I go in. I will have to replace the passenger side airbag area :( eventually as the leather is loosened and ripped.:banghead: Didn't notice until it was out and on the table.

Silver with washers... ?? Top inside the radio aperture... there's 2 screws go in there... not easily visible unless you get down and look up into the hole. Did you manage to get the 2 allen drive screws back in?

Yes. Well in fact one of those two Allen key bolts was gone! The other one had some type of tape on it like a sealer. I found a bolt in my junk that was used to replace the missing one. Ah yes... I think you got it... two of them do go up into the vents from under the radio area! I missed them..

You're very welcome, glad it went well.

High five Cooper!! Glad all went well and only 2 screws left over! Isn't that how we accumulate parts for other projects?? I've got a bucket full that I use and have no idea where I got them. lol JIM

Funny the things you don't notice...

My interior has a fully stitched interior which I never really paid any attention to until I was looking at the newly installed IPanel. The new Ipanel is smooth on every edge and surface similar to the main dash are however the passenger airbag area has a stitched leather look! Looks as if I am going to have to get another Ipanel to make it match :banghead: the rest of the interior. Don't get me wrong the new Ipanel is much better that what I had before.

I have looked through hundreds of pictures and finding Zeds with a stitched interior showing the full dash is almost impossible to get a hold of! :(

If you need to know about leather interiors, I can help. I have sent complete new leathers to some of the members in the UK, and I have done my last 2.8 Z3 and now my 3.0 with the full leather trim. You have my pvt email addy if you want to chat via that...
