technology and your parents

That's good @oldcarman :p
At least she has got a phone ;)
And a iPad ....... :)
Well done to your mum :)

Mum doesn't have much of a clue but give her due she did just about manage wordperfect before she retired when that was around before microsoft word became the standard.

Dad was brilliant and became an absolute wiz on Autocad in his late career as he was a mechanical engineering draughtsman. He then started video editing as a hobby when he retired and could have done it for a profession as he had some pretty expensive kit including pro cameras. Alas all that has gone now with the onset of alzheimers and can now just about manage to do basic surfing which I have to help him out from time to time, cruel disease I wouldn't wish on anybody. :(

Well,I'm the old guy in our family and constantly frustrate my daughters with my lack of knowledge about 'eye patches',Tablets, yeah, take a lot!!
BUT, I was fine on Windows 7,then was pestered by Windows to 'up grade to 10' . Progress? It's full of stuff I don't use and I can't do anything now! Old farts like me be warned - stay with 7. :banghead:

Totally agree about staying with windows seven. Does everything I need, which isn't much at 68 yrs. my iPhone does everything I could need and I managed to search, buy and get my car from the UK to my driveway using only it, never spoke a word by phone throughout the whole exercise. Haven't used my laptop for several years! Jim

My mum has nothing at all to do with modern day gadgets. My dad has a home computer which he uses for email and that is about it. They both have non smart mobile phones which are turned off unless they are out!
