Techies. please help!!!

In the last 2 weeks, we have have suffering from small screen/window syndrome with our email, so much so that you can hardly read it!!! The programme window has reduced down to less than 50% of the screen size. Strangely, each time you go back into the screen, it refreshes itself as full size to begin with, but instantly shrinks backs to 50%. This is only happening with our email, everything else is fine!!!? We have tried to rectify it, but I am worried that we will make it worse!!

We are on 8.1 and have decided not to update to Windows10 as everyone says it is rubbish!!!

Please help us as I can't stands Mike moaning anymore that he can't find his glasses every time he wants to read the emails! I know you techie guys like a challenge

What are you using for your email... Outlook? Windows Live Mail? Something else?

It's better than 8.1. I think people are just upset because Microsoft changed the way it looks on screen again. Been running it from day on several computers and it's quick and stable...
 
Strange one Sandy, who is your e.mail provider?

Same with Vista when it came out, I have been running it for six years and have no problems with it.
By the way Sandy, get yourself a Google e.mail account.
 
Try the obvious.... in the screen hold down the Ctrl key and then use the mouse wheel to roll up and increase the screen size. Maybe that will help. Let me know.

Edit: I hated 8.1 so bad I installed Linux on one of my machines - filthy bit of software that 8.1 .....good news that 10 is much better except M/S Edge the browser. Almost worse than useless sometimes so keep Chrome or something else installed.

I think there might be a font size setting in Win10 that governs how small stuff appears on screen. Are you using chrome?

Orange is our email provider and has been since before the days of the Spice Girls!!!

Do you think we would be better updating to windows 10 then, Gazza.

I meant which program are you using to read your email, not the provider ;)
 
Can't imagine life not having to look back!!! it would be heaven, as at the moment our heads are on a permanent swivel!!!! Can an iMac really do that, they must be flying off the shelf!!!!;)

Do you mean Google Chrome? as all we do is log on to the orange home website, which we have our email page saved on and look up our email!

I think I've just solved the problem for Sandy. Went into (customise and control google chrome) and increased Zoom size to 100%. A lot better now. Sorry to bother you all.

Sorry not had chance to reply. Cooper made the suggestion for resetting the size zoom earlier in the thread, which is what you've done. You can also hold down the Control key and press the 0 (zero) key and that will reset the zoom to 100% as well.
 
Yes. thanks everyone for your suggestions, you can now all get back to those loads of jobs that you were about to do for the lights of your lives!!!:D
