Android mate and if I want to check up on you lot, I just go online.
Texting is just for short messages and I think (hope) it is safer than using an app.
Other stuff, I just use e.mail........

I agree tapatalk is a PITA ......we have a few members on my Harley site still using it ...however we will be removing it as well....they are starting to charge the site for its use and thats just not going to fly 
When you remove it make sure you contact them and ask them to delete any and all indexed data they hold. I use viber for texts and Skype to talk to my mate in Dubai. You can send pics foc on there as you can with WhatsApp I believe. It's really good and very quick. Text messages to Dubai are instant.
Viber is great just bin talkin to our son in Oz. And its free calls.txt .pics an vids.pity wr cant upload vids here with it.
