I do not want to misrepresent the situation! When I managed to get the information on how the cars are to be displayed at Zedfest, I was asked to investigate if we could be displayed together as Zroadster.org. As a result I have been in touch with the organisers at BMWCC and there is a possibility that under the banner of Horwood Hero's ID Yellow (because most of us are coming together from Horwood House) we could all be put together in our own group. This is not confirmed and I may be misunderstanding the positive vibe that I have received, however I decided that I would do a poll to check out in detail the members views in anticipation.

What has been discussed is that we would have to "Tie a Yellow Ribbon round the old Ariel" (sorry a certain song came to mind) the marshals have to have something they would be able to spot at a distance to pull us out or direct us without having to check every car in detail as they would not have the time to do that, bear in mind that if someone not from our group followed us the marshals would need to head that off as well. We would have to take responsibility for following signs marked up "HH ID Yellow" where displayed.

I would like to reflect the complications If you get 20 + Z's all behind each other, sorting who goes where--with hundreds of ZZZs being sorted and potential Log Jams onsite. The marshals have to sort then direct and clear into Six Z types to their specific areas----+13 other Model groups, and now maybe even an extra one "HH ID Yellow". So they do not have an easy job so if we do get the approval we need to do everything we can to help make things work easily. Remember the marshals are just volunteers as far as I know not specialists.

Please do not vote if you are not attending Zfest. I have closed the Poll Early as we have gained enough information to tell us we need to look at this in a different way. The result up to 14:00 7/7/12 was 12 for displaying with the families 13 for displaying Zroadster.org and 2 who did not have a preference.

Edit 7/7/12 14:30 and change to direction as a result of votes to date.

It would appear that we have roughly a 50/50 split and as I said in another post the idea of the Zroadster.org display is an option. However in order for it not to present the wrong impression we need a critical mass. It would rather ridiculous if we only had 5 cars in the Zroadster.org area. So I think we need to get around 20 cars to make the Zroadster.org display viable. Therefor I will now start a list of those that do wish to be part of a Zroadster.org HH ID Yellow display. I do feel stongly that less than about 20 and the idea needs to be withdrawn. I will look at the individual posts and include those that I feel clear have already indicated. Please post if you wish to be included, or if I have included you in error.

By the way you do not have to be staying at Horwood House Hotel to be a part of this and we do not have to arrive together. Just show the Yellow Ribbon and we will then be directed to the special area set aside for us. (for those with no aerial one of the window mounted GB flags with the flag removed and a yellow ribbon mounted instead).

Edit 13/7/12

I have the reply from John Safe and the HH ID Yellow is now being set up. As I have said we are responsible for making sure that we follow the Marshals and our eyes as John puts it (refering to the HH ID Yellow signs). He is putting the sensible proviso that weather will dictate his actions on the day, obviously if the weather requires changes we will fall in with whatever he has to do. He has told me that through Ian he will post an update 48 hours before the event to say that all is fine. He has to arrange the direction signs and everything else, including the additional briefing for the Marshals

Awesome effort again Duncan ^:)^

I can't think of anything better than parking up with the best bunch of Zedders in the country! :-*

BTW, did you get my text about putting the ribbon round the drivers door mirror? Most Zeds seem to have stubby aerials, and I know Board doesn't have one on his at all! I was also thinking that it would be more visible for the marshalls....

My opinion for what its worth, I think we should park in groups.

Z1, z3, z4 etc. And all . Cars together.

It will look great, and we will all be together anyway.

probably not given the numbers unless you want to leave your car at one end of the display and be with everyone at the other end ;)

I like the thought of being able to group together.

From personal experience of shows I like the security of people knowing who you and your car are.

One particular pillock at the Swansea show who was quite happy leaning - no, not quite the right term as he had the whole top of his body in the car. Had quite a nice rummage around, before I managed to get him out. I found that he was sucking a lolly at the same time even more exhilarating - hmmm sticky fingers... I particularly liked the parents who are happy for their kids to run their hands along your paintwork as if it was a picket fence...

The good thing about that show was that we all watched out for each others cars because we knew who was supposed to be with them. I'm pretty sure there would have been more instances like this if we had not known each other.

Call me cynical, paranoid and over protective, but I'm not wanting to have to stand guard over my car the entire day... If I park in the with Z4's it will be locked, roof up all day as I only know a couple of Z4 owners. Certainly can't guarantee anyone keeping an eye on my car while I'm propping to the EAC Tea & Cake Concessionary to say hello (and sample Snoops cakes and Mikes coffee!)

Bon chance... :(

Gaz, that is what you have to expect if you go to a show, I will stick with going on a cruise.

Fully with you on that HT- sucks though.

That's why the only shows I've displayed at have been with fellow members...

When I said "as previously" notified I meant..... I had previously posted it elsewhere in one of the threads. Lol not that you had been notified by the organisers.

The organisers have said that they are hoping to document an advice post about the Zedfest this weekend and get Ian to circulate it amongst the forums by the way. :coolsteer) :coolsteer)

No that is why I am trying to get the Poll they are not saying we have to arrive together and I have specifically not said it would be all the convoy but I would expect John (from BMWCC) to think I meant a sizeable number so if it is a small number I would think it would look a little daft even separatist which was not the objective. That is only my opinion if we have 25 30 cars I think it would be fine but 10 would be better if we did not do it I think.

I hope that answers as well as giving my personal feelings as well.
