Sunday challenge.

'Job etc' , that would be 'role' . Round here a roll would be oblong as in sausage roll, cobs are round so I guess that's like baps further south. I won't even try to explain Pikelets to southerners.;)
depends what you refer to, a drop scone or a crumpet? I've always know a Pikelet as other would call a drop scone?

We used to call crumpets pikelets

You learn something every day! Never heard of a Drop scone before, but what we call Pikelets a lot of other parts of the country call Crumpets. At the risk of that ice again I do like crumpet with nice baps.

Ha ha they are bigger than a Pikelet Tony and definitely a different mixture.

They look identical to American pancakes about 6" diameter, middle picture is how we cook pancakes here.
Last picture is what we call pikelettes or crumpets. Best toasted with cheese spread on them.

Different regions different names. Like the Cob, Bun, Roll etc. Pikelets we used to have were small about 3 inches, but my Nan called them drop scones.

They look like pancakes

They look like American pancakes, but not like we do pancakes at home, we cook them about 3-4 mm thick and as big as the frying pan you’re using. using. Made with a batter mix.
