A first, for me this year. I just spotted a pair of Swallows feeding around the lake.
They say "One Swallow doesn't make a summer", but two?

Tony.

A Grest Spotted Woodpecker.
Never seen one, here or anywhere else.

Tony.

I used to love seeing the Swallows when I was working. They used to appear every April and nest in the buildings all around the site. They usually raise two broods each pair and then in the autumn they all disappeared for the winter.

Saw this guy briefly, before a local Moggy encouraged flight.

With a bit of luck Tony, he'll be back now that he has found a regular food source.

I hope so Bryan, very colourful bird. Makes a green Woodpecker look drab by comparison.

Tony.

A friend of ours who works at Lincoln Golf club at Brampton said he saw a pair of Red Kites over the course on May 4th. I was talking with a mate at the gate this afternoon and we also spotted them above the Lock area.

Tony.
