Currently have a 2.0 2000 manual...and have noticed that when i take off from the lights or generally accelerate i hear a subtle whistle that stops if i take my foot off...i have seen a youtube vid about a cracked vaccum rubber pipe somewhere in the engine bay that may cause this problem...
anyone else had the same and how did you rectify it????

thanks to all and drive safe...

Hi Greg, I changed this rubber hose over the weekend. I didnt take any pics but this thread will show the problem and where it is in the engine.

I got the part from ebay.

Its very fiddly to change this on a 2.2, i don't know if there is much extra room in a 2.0 engine bay but best of luck with replacing it.

2.0 is just the same under the bonnet as a 2.2. Yes a bit fiddly but a small piece of advice, and don't mean to tell anyone how to suck eggs, but a 1/4" drive socket set with a flexible drive extension is invaluable for doing hose clips and even using an electric screwdriver such as the Bosch IXO. makes it so much easier on the knuckles.;)

Tony.

I would leave it alone and make the corsa lads think you have a turbo fitted...

If you were a lady driver my advice would be to keep your legs closed
