Mike, from that 2nd pic just watch the corrosion on the power steering cooler they tend to go where the tabs are welded onto the tube for mounting and are well known for breaking off. Give these brackets a coat of smooth hamerite if you get chance it will buy you some more time as the coolers are around £50 to buy.

Yes you are right, Aceman, I have coated it thickly with black hammerite, hoping to put off the evil moment!! :D

I have replace all the rubber donuts aswell that hold it in place, although the bottom right one was a pig to get off and a new one on #:-s

Looking good there :-bd Wow that horn was well and truly corroded, it's a wonder you get any kind of noise out of it.

How long now before you can get the wheels on and get it out of the garage?
:nearmiss)
I know what you mean about the dusty bonnet, that's why I want a cover for mine dust comes under our garage door all over Zippy when I've cleaned him.

Hi Snoops,

Have fitted the wheel arches and the nose cone this weekend, shame we were inside instead of out in the sun, hope you managed to get out top down in it today :steer2) have painted the front brake calipers aswell, cleaned just one wheel so far, ready to go on #:-s

Have to get some washers jets from BMW, on mine they are the heated variety, as the old ones broke when I took them off the bonnet X(

Should be finishing it over Easter, in time for the Rutland Run :coolsteer)

Hurry Mike only so many days left for silverstone ;)

116 days 2 hrs 13 mins and counting :steer2)

Ah Snoops, Monday drivers are even worse, most of them are going to work.

If the car had been ready, we would have driven to Sandringham today and had some lunch there.

Thanks for that Liam, i will be able to recognize her at silverstone now. ;)

6hrs with the sun beating down will get through any thickness of hair, should have put my head shade on

It will take me a while yet folks, this is only phase one, got to wait until next winter before I begin again.
Jobs to be done before May. Change water pump and if possible radiator. #:-s

Also decided to have the rear offside wing and door mirrors sprayed at the end of April. Paul a local artist and sprayman, is really keen to take some more money from me. $-) The trouble is, the more you do yourself, the more you find that needs doing. 8-|

good thread :-bd
