Afternoon all...I recently had to glue back in my rear window as the top stitching perished leaving the plastic flapping. I managed to sandwich the plastic between the fabric layers and glue with Gorilla glue..it's not brilliant but keeps tne inside waterproof...all the repair vids I've seen are zipped windows and not stitched in ones

Similar story my hood has shrunk (as they all do) and I had to stitch it in one corner and seal using some black sealant, not pretty but it stops the gap spreading.
yeah other than buying a new hood I'm not sure what the answer is. I did see one guy's video of stitching back the hood but all the holes lined up perfectly to the plastic, so it wasn't "reality"

Zipped rear windows are almost certainly OEM. Stitched in is aftermarket.

really?? I would have thought t'other way round as stitching would be more work...but that's a great nugget should I nees a new lid

Zipped in will have one row of stitching, stitched in has two rows.

OEM zipped won't have the stitching next to the rubber.

Your top looks quite old, so I'm surprised that its not the original top with a zipped in rear window. Maybe there have been multiple attempts over the years to seal it by stitching it in.

Have a good look from the inside of the car. If its a zipped in wind, there is normally a small metal channel about 25 mm/1" long clipped over the end of the zipper. Its in the bottom middle of the window.

thanks...I've looked before and especially for the clip, it's definitely a stitched top
