No sign of the idiots tearing through our village slowing down any time soon. Mainly bikes but some cars too.
I came across this idiot yesterday afternoon when road testing the Z. As I turned off the A57 onto the A1133 heading towards Laughterton (Shed regulars know this junction) he came from the A1133 from Newark. I was doing 60 going into Laughterton and he came hurtling past me then braked hard for the 2 in front going into the 30 limit.
Coming out of the village heading to Torksey Lock as I caught up head pulled out to overtake the van on front on the blind crest. He had to brake like hell to get back behind the van.
The truck is owned by Paragon and is a "Highway Maintainance" vehicle. You can clearly see the Reg. No., Telephone number and website.

But the most astounding thing is written on the side of the truck.

I feel like contacting Paragon to be honest.

One thing I've noticed over the last few days tony is that people seem to think that because the world is coming to an end (for a few weeks) people can drive where they want, how fast they want and how badly they want. Driving to work today along the A1 in a 50 section, I wasnt even doing the speed limit but I got overtaken by every car on the road! Some of them had to be doing over the national speed limit too. Undertaking, cutting up, on the phone.. you name it, I seen it this week!
 
I believe it Davy. It'll end in tears somewhere though.

Hey Davey , I'm exactly the opposite , I normally drive faster than I should but recently I've been on full defense mode , last place anyone wants to be is in hospital after being in an RTA , as if there isn't enough going on

Call it in Tony. Will likely have cameras and gps on it that the transport manager can access. He'll get a short talk and then likely be spending time at home like the rest of us.
 
Oh - and tell the transport manager that the footage will be going to the local police if they fail to take action. So, he's got an easy exit strategy or a hard one :thumbsup:

The company resides in Sunny Scunny. I've dispatched an email telling them what happened and that I think I would shame them by posting it on the internet or giving it to Lincs. Police ) who probably have better things to concern them at the moment) and asked for their thoughts.

Let the company and then the police deal with it Tony. If you publish the video now then you might get no action. Much as we'd like to shame them, its often counter productive. Getting a visit from the police now is likely to cause them way more problems than anything.
 
I'll see what happens Ian. I have kept the 3 clips on my PC just in case.

Do! Call and let the company know about the total lack of careful driving you witnessed. Ask it what it intends to do. Let us know how you get on Tony.

I did hear that people are now using the roads as a race track :(
It’s terrible that people think they can do that :(

The one in front of me didn't seem to be doing anything other than driving. Not speeding. No dodgy lights that I could see.

I don't know if he has the "get out of jail" card from his bosses, though ;) .

I kinda want to get a tug, just to see what they say.
 
They have the powers now to stop and ask why you're out away from home. Nothing sinister, it's for our own good isn't it?

Any way, back to idiots driving like maniacs. I got and email from the company who own the truck. This afternoon I got a call telling me the driver has only worked there for 1 month and is suspended pending investigation from their GPS and Dashcam footage. What a complete bell end.

Said that would be the result. So many people unable to work and not earning and he throws away the opportunity. He now has plenty of time to contemplate his own downfall.
 
Had someone in a Merc doing well over 120 on the M69 earlier. Just looked at my dash cam and it wasn't seated right on the holder so didn't record :mad:
