Stereo Dead, I’m all out of ideas...

Evening all... I resisted posting initially but now I’m all out of ideas. BMWZ3 2.8 1999.

A few days ago my aftermarket stereo decided not to turn on and it’s been powerless since.

I have checked all fuses under hood and on stereo which are fine, harness is fine too but still no power.

I have checked a few threads but no help so I started a new one in case someone has had a similar issue.

The break coincided with the car being washed, that’s the only clue I have... any help?

You need 2 power sources and a ground. One is switched power, another is constant power and you also need a ground. Ground is usually a chassis ground but some radios will work with antenna ground. Make sure you check all 3 wires for proper power and ground with a meter or test light. Do not assume the connection is good.
