When I bought my breadvan 5 years ago after driving a E46 M3 for 3 years it was the first thing I wanted to upgrade as I'd forgotten how thin and spindly it was on the first breadvan I'd had prior to the M3.
I did a exchange wheel option with Royal Wheels and got my local indy to do the change over for me. It totally transformed the driving experience. Would definitely recommend Jack at Royal Wheels to do a refurbishment job on a steering wheel.

All these refurbs look fantastic, I'll definitely be in the queue for one at some point. How much do Royal charge on average?

Mine was £114.99 + £100 refundable deposit back in August 2012, so expect to pay a bit more than that now.
Over all the time since I've had mine done I've only heard of one complaint and that was from someone who had a heated steering wheel (can't remember make of car it was from) and it didn't work when he refitted it, but I don't think he'd mentioned the fact it was heated when he sent it in for refurbishing. Everyone else on the Z Forums who've had work done by Jack have been over the moon with the result, his workmanship is superb.

Had mine done recently and fitted it last Friday. It cost £125 plus p&p then the cost of the exchange return, so just under £150 in total. Well worth it though.

Mine was a little more again (£150) but there was a little bit of repair required on top of the standard retrim and it included fitting.

I want to do that too, but I want to find a 2nd wheel to use and send to RSW.
Meanwhile last weekend I finally had my go at leather dye...I was amazed by the color match and by how easy it is to use it.

If I hear back from Royals soon (having a real job getting any communication from them) then I'll have a spare wheel available, as I have another one to send for refurbishment.
