So they were getting another Z then, we weren't too sure after talking to them. Not too sure whether they lived near Upton where we saw the car you bought. They're S.Yorkies if I remember right and we got chatting about Florida as I told them that's why we were all out for a lunch together as the lads had come to collect the bits I'd brought them back with me, plus it was my birthday too. It was Bob who took our picture but I can't find it for the life of me. I know Roy @Rha has it too cos he posted it on here a while ago.

Mimicry is the highest form of flattery mate, I should know as my Z is a copy of everything I have seen on here :D
That's what I like about this forum Sean, everyone takes it as a compliment when you "borrow" their ideas.

That'd be the one mate, I just found it so I've moved it into my Z.org folder now.

Wish I could move some me of mine, but frightened I might mess it up and loose em, so there all mixed up in photo Album.
Like that steering wheel with the blue inserts, Jack offered to do mine when he done my refurb but I declined, wish I'd said yes now. That interior looks real nice @Sean d
Just can't believe that's the same car.
Roy.

It's a total transformation isn't it Roy. Whenever I show people pictures from meets and the forum etc. everyone says "I love that blue car!". Sean picked a real stunner with that choice.

Thanks for the kind words mate, you will probably remember the dilemma I had when choosing the colour, it took weeks, one minute it was going to be gun metal next it was pearl white, then I settled on that BMW orangy colour or Protonic blue, glad I went with the blue, it makes me smile every time I look at it.

I'm lucky to be in the position I am as a panel beater and painter mate, the work I have done on this car would have made it cost prohibitive had I not been, I got the car cheap enough at £1100, I have spent £1700 on the nice bits, thats not including any service stuff at all, the respray would have cost in the region of £3000, still probably got another £1700 to go if I'm lucky but don't tell mrs D ;)

I told the guy this and he said because the product is water based it would work on a hard plastic
I flatted the tabs back to get them matt for a key it took a couple of goes. It coats like a plastic but it can be done.
I found if you went to heavy and it over bubbled and lifted but now dry its very similar to the black vinyl coating used on the black centre console parts.

Yesterday I dropped into my local Liquid Leather place asking if it was possible to dye the two pieces either side of the airbag and was told the dye wouldn't take to plastic.

Sean cracking job mate.
Did mine Steve, no problem with it.
