Starting engine after dormancy

I agree with Colb on squirting oil in the cylinders, and I'd be tempted to remove the cam cover and oil the cams too.
Totally agree just reawakening my 2.8 and oiled the cams last weekend. Well worth the price of a cam cover gasket set to confirm the cams and chain are ready to roll.

I always just pull the fuel pump fuses out 13, and 18 if memory is up to speed, when it’s been standing over the winter months. Turn engine over and listen for any funny noises and the oil will be pushed around the engine before it starts. Hopefully when you replace the fuses there is oil in all of the correct places for starting.

Hi - I'm planning start today (Saturday) for Z3M after 12 months standing can you confirm fuse numbers to pull to disable fuel pump - I've been all over here and general internet but cannot find any reference?

Thanks again, the car is coccooned and didn't want to disturb it until ready so I hadn't been able to physically check the fuse-box. The weather wasn't condusive to getting stuck in yesterday so gathering as much info up front as I could.
